I purchased a condo on short sale in Whittier so naturally it was as-is. The bathrooms needed refurbishing, the concrete aggregate decks were a mess, the kitchen and fireplace tile were chipped. Ann Taylor from Decorative Concrete to the rescue. I liked that Ann recommended just cleaning up the bathrooms rather than replacing the tile and vanity sink (which would've been more expensive). Her crew replaced the 80's style tile in the kitchen and fireplace with slate mosaic and a granite countertop. The decks were powerwashed and sealed (what a difference!). Ann was very responsive and good with follow up. There were snags in the escrow so I had to keep rescheduling. Despite this, Ann worked with me and scheduled the work so efficiently knowing my timelines for moving. Now my little condo feels like a 5-star resort with all the upgrades. And her price was reasonable - not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
About Us
Grahame and Ann started Decorative Concrete & Curb Appeal Specialists, Inc. in 2001 and have enjoyed working with homeowners, contractors and developers in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. Their wide range of experience gives them the ability to provide quality finishes, on time, within budget. Grahame grew up in the field as a union cement mason and finisher working for the well known concrete company Shaw & Sons Construction.
After graduating from college with a BS degree in Construction Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Ann worked for the prestigious company Hathaway Dinwiddie for over 10 years where she rose to the position of Project Manager. Ann worked on many high end commercial projects such as the Getty Museum, Team Disney Anaheim and the ABC Broadcast Facility in Glendale. Between core and shell projects she managed many high end interior projects for the company.
